How to assign different ringtones to each person in your phone
book
Ok, so you’ve now got your cool new
ringtones downloaded to your cell phone, and you want
to assign these various ringtones to different people
in your phone’s Address Book. How do you do that?
It’s very simple. Again, all cell phones and models
are very different, so I’m going to give you the process
that works on my Spring PCS A500 Samsung cell phone.
But don’t worry if your phone is a little bit different.
This overall process is very similar on all phones,
and with a little playing around with your phone menus
you’ll quickly figure out how to assign a different
ringtone to each person in your address book.
On my cell phone, I take the following
steps to assign a different ringtone to each person
in my address book:
1) Press
Main Menu
2) Select
Phone Book
3) Select
Find
4) Scroll
down to the name of the party you wish to assign a
ringtone to
5) When
that person’s name is highlighted, select OK to access
their entry
6) Scroll
down to “Defaut: Name ringer.”
7) Press
the Menu button on your phone
8) Use
the right arrow to scroll through your ringtone types
and select “Downloaded”
9) With
“Downloaded” Highlighted, press your down arrow to
access your downloaded ringers
10) Using your right button, scroll
through your ringtones until you have found the ringtone
you wish to assign to this person.
11) One the ringtone you wish
to assign is highlighted, press “Ok.” Then press
“Ok” again.
12) You will now be prompted to
save the entry. Select “Yes”
That might seem like a lot of steps,
but once you’ve done this a time or two it’s all very
fast and easy. There you go,
you have now just assigned a custom ringtone to an
individual in your phone book!
